San Francisco, CA (Dec 5, 2014) — Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN) celebrates its annual holiday with the debut of The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyenan associate professor of English and American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. Nguyen is also the author of Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America 
The event will be on Saturday, December 13, from 6:00 – 11:00, at the Intersection for the Arts, 925 Mission Street. Tickets are $25 per person, which will include hors d’oeuvres and wines. Tickets can be purchased online at http://dvanholiday.brownpapertickets.com
The program will include a Q&A session moderated by Aimee Phan, author of We Should Never Meet and The Reeducation of Cherry Truong.The evening will also feature special performances by performance artist Natalia Duong and musician Unity Nguyen, and exhibited artworks of Minnie Phan and Trinh Mai.
